Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Check all types of heavy equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Deal with all hazards pertaining to the work getting done on the equipment
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computer and other testing equipment to determine extent of repairs
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components
  • Test equipment for proper performance to ensure repairs meet manufacturers specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment
  • Order all parts to the correct machine and work order
  • Make all repairs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Organize work area and keep it free of clutter and debris
  • All work, notes and time must be entered daily into company maintenance database
  • Return all outstanding parts, tools or equipment used during repairs
  • Dispose of extra materials when job is finished
  • Support coworkers and to be a good team player
  • Follow all Health and Safety laws and guidelines
  • Ensure a safe, organized and clean work area and vehicle
  • Maintain tooling and equipment in proper working order
  • Supply own basic hand tools as needed
  • Ensure company vehicle is kept clean and organized

Requested skills and experience:

  • Fluent in English – both written and oral
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic’s Ticket with Red Seal
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with Air
  • Computer skills an asset
  • Have own hand tools
