Field Heavy Equipment Technician (Off Road)
The applicant will be responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service and perform all tasks related to the testing, diagnosing, repair, maintenance and reconditioning of heavy equipment typically on-site. They must be confident and able to work independently on site. The ideal candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule with a variety of shifts to accommodate service needs. They will be career minded and looking for long term employment within this team orientated company.
This role is based in Calgary and reports to the Field – Maintenance Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Check all types of heavy equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computer and other testing equipment to determine extent of repairs
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components
- Test equipment for proper performance to ensure repairs meet manufacturers specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Order parts, enter daily time sheets and machine notes into company maintenance database
- Return all outstanding parts, tools or equipment used during repairs
- Dispose of extra materials when job is finished
- Maintain tooling and equipment in proper working order
REQUESTED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of as a heavy-duty equipment technician in comparable industry/environment
- A Red Seal Endorsement for Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians
- Experience with CAT, Paccar equipment an asset
- Ability to work on stationary and support large equipment (D6/D7/D8, small hoes, etc.)
- Strong team player who is comfortable working independently and unsupervised
- Organized and able to deal with the stress of tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English – both written and verbal
- A valid class 5 driver’s license with air endorsement and clean drivers abstract
- Own basic hand tools
